On Monday June 8, on the beginning of Phase 1 reopening in NYC, I returned to painting the murals project at the landmark Daily News Building. I had just begun painting the first of the murals when the city quarantine occurred. I cried when I returned to the building. It's been more than 3 months since March we've been on strict lock down in NYC and it was my first day back to working on my dream. It's been a long road, hard fought for so many, and we're not out of the woods yet. I'm going to give it my best and dedicate my work on these murals to the people we have lost in NYC. To any fellow Phase 1 workers out there today be safe and welcome back to work. Incredibly grateful to be painting again. Love from NYC. 🖤 J
